1. JUST DO IT AND WRITE IT DOWN. No excuses--find a way. Find the reason you want to build a better body, a stronger mind, a more fulfilling life. Write it down. Find a schedule that works. Write it down. When a reason is not meaningful anymore, find that next reason. Don't place unnecessary limits on yourself. It's doable. It's worth it. It can and should be balanced with everything else going on in your life.

2. SET GOALS. Once you find that reason, set goals for yourself. Make a promise to prioritize taking care of yourself, and keep that promise!

3. WEIGHT TRAIN. Weight training transforms your body by building muscle--giving it a different shape. It makes you stronger physically, but it also makes you more confident in all aspects of your life. It is one of the most effective fat loss methods around because muscle burns more calories than fat. It helps keep your bones strong too.

4. AEROBICS. Aerobic activity is also an important component in leading a healthy life. Aerobic activity promotes cardiovascular health by working the heart and lungs! It primarily burns fat, but also 'tones' the muscles.

5. CHECK POINTS. Whether you are looking to build a healthier body, compete in a bodybuilding contest, look good for an upcoming wedding, you should constantly evaluate yourself. Look at yourself in the mirror. Think about how you feel. Weigh yourself and/or get your bodyfat tested every couple of weeks.

6. MAKE IT A HABIT. Treat exercise like you do brushing your teeth, taking a shower, or something else you always do. It should become that natural with time.

7. INTENSITY. Intensity and quality in exercise outweighs quantity and time spent every time. You can be productive and see results without spending massive amounts of time exercising.

8. ENJOY IT. You must find activities/exercises you enjoy. Be open. I highly, highly promote weight training. It is very effective in transforming the body. The most important thing, though, is to be active. This benefits you physically and mentally.

Working the mind and body 9. EXERCISE THE BODY, STIMULATE THE MIND. You can work your mind without working your body. For example, computer programming does not place many physical demands on the body. It is almost impossible to do any type of physical activity without working your mind. They work together.

10. DON'T GIVE UP! Nobody is perfect. There will be days where you don't want to exercise or just don't care. I've had them. Remember why you are doing it. Remember how it makes you feel. The body, just like the mind, is a terrible thing to waste!
